Water problems
Why do most of people in Jordan do not have enough water to use? Is it because we in Jordan rely on rain only? Or there are other things that make Jordan one of the poorest 10 countries in the world in water supplies?
In this section we will talk about the things we do in daily life and over consume water :
1. Cleaning: Housecleaning, cleaning cars and personal Hygiene (Taking a bath)
a) when cleaning dishes or floor, most of our mothers or sisters keep the water tab open. Sometimes, they go to open the door or answer the phone while water is still running.
b) When we clean our car using a hose, we keep the water running for longer times.
c) Most of us spend long times taking a shower or bath. Some people leave the water running while brushing there teeth or shaving.
2. Swimming: Swimming in the pools consume a huge amount of water especially in summer. Swimming pools require continuous change of water. Furthermore, in summer, the sun evaporates big amount of water which must be replaced which consumes more and more of our drinking water.
3. Playing with water: At home some mothers will let small kids play with water . This is another big problem because the kids will never understand how valuable this water is for all of us.
